A busy month for the Social Studies Department! Class trips went out to the NJ State House and the NJ Vietnam Veterans Memorial & Education Center, plus the child of a Holocaust survivor spoke to several classes in the NBTHS Auditorium. Excellent experiences for our students
NBTHS students were honored today at the Revolution NJ Expo held at Rutgers University. Students Olanyi Cabrera Martinez, Keiry Marte Sanchez, and Loraini Quintana Santana, guided by their teacher, Mr. Will Ojeda in our Bilingual US II History course, created a project that was chosen by the selection committee for its excellence. They heard from NJ DOE VIPs and the Lt Gov. of NJ. They also shared projects with student groups from around the state. Congratulations to them and thanks for representing the NBTHS community with such pride!

Journalist and author, Allan Chernoff, spoke to Mrs. Passner and Mr. Totten's 'World History' and 'Dimensions of Prejudice, Genocide and the Holocaust' classes today. Mr. Chernoff told the story of his mother, Rena Marguiles Chernoff, and her amazing story of survival during the Holocaust at Auschwitz. Students had the opportunity to listen and ask questions.
